Young Kamel wants to leave Algeria in order to reach his friends, who migrated
to Italy. But first of all he must persuade his girlfriend Zina to flee with
him, and then obtain passports for both. Therefore, he must find Bosco, a
shady guy running illegal migration to Europe. Kamel and Zina go through the
centre and deserted outskirts of Algiers before they fall prey to local police.
Set in the violent climate lacerating Algeria for more than a decade, Tariq
Teguia’s first full-length film forcefully represents the painful indifference,
the constant threat of unforeseeable dangers and the restraints imposed by
curfew. It also portrays the genuine spirit of a juvenile culture that, despite
its extraordinary vitality, constantly risks obliteration.
