Paul is a migrant from Cameroon; Jakob is a German filmmaker who is working along the European borders. They meet between Morocco and Melilla, where so many are waiting to climb over the border; they come across each other again in Spain, where Paul has managed to arrive via boat, in a crossing where many of his fellow travellers failed. It doesn’t take him much long to decide, with unwavering faith and determination, to venture to Germany, where the relationship between the filmmaker and the young African man becomes somewhat strained. But life, in the end, is much more unpredictable than the documentary itself.
