Four angels descend to Earth with the task of guiding some lost souls through the darkest moments of their lives. Karel, a driving instructor, is trapped in an emotionally drained marriage with Maria; Ester is still marked by the recent death of her husband and is not ready to start a new relationship; Zdeněk, on the other hand, wants to kill himself because his friend Filip has taken away his wife. Although they cannot directly enter their lives, the angels have the ability to influence the course of events, acting through subtle suggestions or inspirations.
