Dacia Express

Directed by Michael Schindegger
Austria / 2008 / 55'

In the Dacia Express compartments, a railroad service between Bucharest and Vienna, people of many different origins mingle. Filmmaker Michael Schindegger has embarked on this journey and talked with people using the line for different reasons. Two Rom guys come back from Germany after being cheated by their alleged employer. A Canadian tourist travels all across Europe, trying to visit as many cities as possible within a short time. A Moldovan returns to his mother country after a job interview in Vienna, as he liked neither the city nor the people… The film assembles stories and raises issues and prejudices paving the way between East and West.
