After her father launches an investigation into a corrupt politician in Angola and is taken away in the middle of the night, 15-year-old Esperança and her mother fear for their lives. Fleeing to the relative safety of France, the couple settles in as best they can: this touching animated documentary tells the young girl’s point of view.
