In a rural village in sub-Saharan Africa, life has been going quietly and unchanged for several centuries now. The women hunt and gather the fruits of the forest, the men take care of the village. People love each other, break up, quarrel, perform magic and pray for rain. But modernity lurks because of the timber multinationals and the forest is cleared, endangering life in the village, whose inhabitants gradually begin to leave. Thus begins a process of urbanisation and assimilation to western customs.
