Mogens and his wife Bitten spend the holidays in their summer home. Their beloved daughter, who was recently left by her husband and is now alone with her small child, goes to visit them. The family needs a quiet day to spend together, but when their friends, Janne and her husband Steen, show up a day early for a scheduled dinner, things begin to get out of hand: Janne pushes everyone into a psychological game, in which not only Mogens’ marriage is questioned, but also his relationship with his daughter Kira.
