October 28 is celebrated worldwide as the International Animation Day because in 1892, in Paris, Emile Reynaud gave the first public performance of his optical theatre, screening the first animated film in history. Since 2002, the whole world celebrates this form of artistic entertainment that fascinates children and adults alike.
On Saturday October 28, 2017, Bergamo Film Meeting will join the worldwide celebrations for the International Animation Day with the Italian preview of Chintis Lundgren’s – who has been the protagonist of BFM 2017 retrospective – short film:
Manivald
Directed by: Chintis Lundgren
Screenplay: Chintis Lundgren, Draško Ivezić

The animal world is once again at the center of Chintis Lundgren’s new project, Lundgren being among the most interesting and prolific animators on the European scene.
Manivald, her last short film – supported by the National Film Board of Canada – is a bizarre love triangle doomed to escape the protagonists’ control. Manivald, the gay fox protagonist, still lives in his mother’s house. The day before his 33rd birthday, a young and sexy wolf comes to their house to fix the washing machine. The whole situation soon goes off the rails, and Manivald chooses to leave his mother’s house, ending up in the bizarre company of a bunch of drunken rabbits.
