From Brussels to Tel Aviv, from Paris to New York, the documentary takes us to all of the places she visited on her travels. An experimental filmmaker and a nomad, she shares with us her cinematographic journey, which continually questions the meaning of the existence in a risky confrontation with the audience. Together with her editor, Claire Atherton, Chantal Akerman explains the origins and the esthetical ambiguities of her language. Touching upon some of 40 films by this prolific filmmaker, the doc is a rigorous and sensitive portrait by someone who knew her well.
