François is a young man of twenty who works the night shift at the Paris Post Office. He is in love with Anne, a girl afew years older than him and with a sentimental “past”: she had an affair with an aviator. One day, while François goes to Anne’s house early in the morning, he sees the girl leaving the door accompanied by a man. It is actually Christian, the aviator, who just that day went to Anne to give her a definitive farewell. But François is also bitter with jealousy because Anne, intolerant of any control, refuses to explain. François, full of doubts and suspicions, wanders the streets of Paris and, by chance, meets Christian again in the company of another woman.
