The last of Rohmer’s moral tales sees the protagonist, Frédéric, a successful 30-year-old, married to Hélène, a professor. The two have a child and are expecting another. They live in a beautiful apartment surrounded by greenery in the Parisian suburbs and Frédéric spends his days between family and office. He is a man who likes to look at beautiful women: he usually takes his lunch break rather late, in the early afternoon, and takes advantage of it to sit at a coffee table and, in total tranquility, watch the women passing by imagining that he can talk to them, conquer them, possess them.
