Indira, a Cuban immigrant, succeeds to flee to United States, but her emigration has consequences inflicted to her family. In Santa Clara, in Cuba, she left her 11-years-old son Leandro, mother Xiomara and many other members of her numerous family, in order to find a better future in United States. Settled now in New Jersey, Indira struggles to adapt to cold weather, different mentality and to a completely new social system. Her “American Dream” turns to be an “American Nightmare”, while her son Leandro is waiting in Santa Clara for her to settles so he can come and live with Indira in USA.
