London, late seventies: Robert works as a disk jockey on a radio, one day he learns from his mother that his brother was found dead in his apartment in Bristol. He then decides to go to that city to investigate the causes of death. He meets a Scottish deserter, a music mechanic, a woman looking for her missing daughter. An intimate road movie in black and white, a journey through England in the late seventies, gray, desolate, desperate. The soundtrack includes Kraftwerk, David Bowie, Lene Lovich, Wreckless Eric. Digitally restored forty-five years after its first release, Radio On is Chris Petit’s first feature film produced by Wim Wenders.
