The Children’s Hour

Teachers Karen Wright and Martha Dobie, former college friends, are running a private girls’ boarding school in Massachusetts in partnership with Martha’s aunt Lily Mortar. Karen is also planning to marry her boyfriend, local doctor Joe Cardin. Their lives are shattered, however, when a spoiled and cruel rich student, Mary Tilford, in revenge for a punishment, tells her grandmother Amelia that the relationship between the two is not what it should be between true friends; immediately word spreads and the community turns against the young women.
