The Romantic Englishwoman

On holiday alone in Baden Baden in Germany, Elizabeth makes the acquaintance of Thomas, a self-styled poet who woos her without much conviction. Meanwhile, in England, her writer husband Lewis thinks up a story about a woman searching for herself. Suspecting his wife of betrayal, perhaps to provoke her, perhaps to dispel his doubts, he decides to invite Thomas into the house as his assistant when she returns. He discovers the affair he may have started himself.
