Walking with Red Rhino – A spasso con Alberto Signetto
Directed by Marilena Moretti Italian title: Walking with Red Rhino – A spasso con Alberto Signetto
Italy / 2014 / 109'

Alberto Signoretto, who died in January 2014, was a passionate filmmaker from Turin. And yet, he was virtually unknown in Italy. A big man, hair tied with an elastic band, a holdall hanging from his neck, containing books, newspapers, notebooks and a videocamera to take notes with. A sheer talent for jokes he had, along with subtle intelligence, extraordinary culture, and an irresistible sense of humour. In this film Alberto – also known by friends as “Red Rhino” – tells his story, talking a blue streak made of memories, meetings, fragments of his works, intimate thoughts, alternating funny and painful moments. This is the affectionate portrait of a “marginal filmmaker”, a tenacious artist and a free intellectual.
