    • We at Bergamo Film Meeting Onlus promote and support film culture with a particular focus on quality cinema and authors. We organise cinema-related events and awards throughout the year, live scoring of classic films, workshops, masterclasses and publications. We promote the distribution of films, both fiction and documentaries, and participate in the re-release and distribution of restored copies of classic films.

Basterebbero due titoli per fare di Siodmak il re del noir americano: “La scala a chiocciola” e “Lo specchio scuro”. In realtà Siodmak è anche molto di più. Una carriera che parte a Berlino nel 1929, in collaborazione con due sodali che diventeranno famosissimi (Edgar Ulmer e Billy Wilder), passa per Parigi e arriva a Hollywood, con noir tra i più famosi, ma anche frequentazioni letterarie (Dostoevskij e Hemingway). Il volume passa in rassegna tutti i periodi di una filmografia non comune, con un contributo, fra gli altri, di Gianni Amelio.”
