The twins Dóra and Lili are born in Budapest in 1880, just as Edison presents the electric light bulb to the world. Orphaned, they are separated in childhood: one grows up to become an idealistic anarchist and bomb-maker, the other a spoiled and hedonistic courtesan. Their paths will cross again.
