The director Pierre-Luc Granjon will meet the audience at the Meeting Point in Piazza della Libertà.
French animation director and illustrator Pierre-Luc Granjon produced his first prizewinning short film, Petite escapade, in 2001 (Grand Prix, Seoul Animation and Cartoon Festival). A talented lover of new methodologies, he then directed Le château des autres (2003) and L’enfant sans bouche (2004), and a series of four episodes, featuring colourful characters in a fantastic medieval landscape (all rendered by mixed media and techniques such as cartoon, puppet animation and découpage), and telling the depths of childhood in a simple, highly imaginative way.
The Festival will present his complete filmography, and a carte blanche featuring works that have influenced Granjon’s career (Gianluigi Toccafondo’s Briganti senza leggenda, 2013, Jonathan Hodgson’s The Man with the Beautiful Eyes, 2000, Suzie Templeton’s Peter & The Wolf, 2006).
