A family in Ecuador proudly looks back on their German ancestor, the explorer Theodor Wolf. However, a hundred years after his death, it is revealed that while in Germany he had not disclosed the existence of his Ecuadorian children. This shadow in the family history raises questions and challenges the identity of his descendants. His great-great-grandson sets out in search of the truth: retracing Wolf’s memoirs, rediscovering photographs and maps, and meeting relatives scattered across the world. Gradually, a different image of the revered family figure begins to emerge.
