

Animation workshop with Vladimir Leschiov, protagonist of the 34th Edition of Bergamo Film Meeting, aimed at teens and adults, movie fans and illustration amateurs.
Leschiov was born in 1970 in Daugavpils, Latvia. After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Riga, from 1992 to 2005 he worked as an illustrator, designer and director for Latvian video production companies and broadcasters. In 2001 and 2002 he studied animation at the Konstfack University College of Stockholm in Sweden, and from 2005 to 2009 he taught animation and directing at the Latvian Art Academy. Works and drawings from his films have been exhibited in Latvia, Portugal and Japan. He conducted numerous workshops and masterclasses and his work has been the subject of retrospectives in Portugal, Poland, France, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany and Russia. He participated and won awards at the most important international festivals such as Annecy, Ottawa, Berlin, Zagreb and Hiroshima. In 2007 he founded the Lunohod animation studio, based in Riga.
During the 34th Edition of Bergamo Film Meeting, original drawings and sketches will be exhibited at Sala Manzù, as a sample of the artist’s work and his creative process.
The workshop will be preceded, at 14:30, by a free 30′ visit to the Accademia Carrara offered to all attendees.
