Bergamo Film Meeting renews its collaboration with Associazione Avisco – Audiovisivo Scolastico: january 14 at Cinema Nuovo Eden in Brescia (5:30pm and 8:30pm), a double appointment with “Cartoni animati in corsia al CINEMA!“, an initiative dedicated to animated films made by children from the wards of the Brescia Children’s Hospital.
After months of passionate work, the films made by the little patients of the Brescia Children’s Hospital as part of the CARTONI ANIMATI IN CORSIA project, will land on the big screen. The 9 films produced will be presented along with a documentation video illustrating the various workshop activities.
Many stories, some very short, were invented and immediately turned into cartoon; others were inspired instead by nursery rhymes that the young filmmakers have made their own realizing the characters, creating the animations and recording the text.
DUEL
During the evening, in addition to the works of the young authors from the Children’s Hospital, Duel, an animated short by Czech director Pavel Koutský, will be screened as a teaser of Bergamo Film Meeting 2015 (March 7-15).
Inspired by Article 13 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) “The child shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of the child’s choice, respecting the rights and dignity of the other people “, the film shows how, through a funnel attached to the head, a child receives a mass of carefully selected information to make him a model citizen. Crescendo will rebel against any form of censorship to be able to choose for himself what is best for him.
Cartoons in wards is a project by Avisco Association in collaboration with Children’s Hospital of Brescia and it consists in offering to hospitalized children and youngsters, the opportunity to attend animation workshops in order to create their own cartoon using stop motion technique.
The Bill of rights of little girls and boys in hospital establishes that every sick child or adolescent has the right to receive an education. Furthermore, it is important and desirable to offer them the opportunity to attend non-formal education courses to bring them closer to art and culture, also using new technologies.
The audiovisual workshop is structured in order to create a exciting work area that can bring out the potentiality of young people through experiences designed to increase self-esteem, operating and expressive success and personal gratification.
