

From May 15 to 20, in Bergamo, the fifth edition of Orlando. Identity, relationships, possibilities, a queer cultural festival that, for five years, has promoted a small temporary revolution in Bergamo thanks to a program reflecting on the themes of identity, gender, body representation through films, shows, theatre and dance performances, meetings with international guests, exhibitions and workshops for all ages. This year spanning from Tuesday, May 15 to Sunday, May 20, the event will include in its calendar the International Day Against Homophobia on Thursday, May 17.
ANIMATION CINEMA FOCUS: CHINTIS LUNDGREN
The collaboration with Bergamo Film Meeting this year consists in the presentation of a new focus event on Chintis Lundgren’s animated cinema, that will take place during the Orlando festival evenings: some short films will be presented, along with Lundgren’s new queer work Manivald.

A bizarre love triangle that will soon get out of hand for the protagonists. Manivald, the gay fox protagonist of the story, still lives in his mother’s house. The day before his thirty-third birthday, a young sexy wolf comes to their house to repair the washing machine. The situation soon gets out of hand, and Manivald decides to leave home. Soon, he finds himself in the company of a bizarre group of drunken rabbits.

Herman H. Rott is a punk rat who only cares about drinking, smoking and listening to grindcore music. His life changes when he decides to go and live with his partner, a cat who loves housecleaning, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, Bach and Beethoven. The cohabitation exerts surprising effects on Herman, to the point of making him obsessed with order and tidiness. But maybe the new Herman is not so enticing anymore…
