Åmål is a boring center of the Swedish province: there live Elin, a troubled teenager and much sought after by classmates, and Agnes, a sad girl, introverted and marginalized by peers. Elin spends her time often changing boyfriend, dreaming rave party and planning escape from the “shitty Åmål”. Agnes writes poems in which she confesses her secret love for Elin. One day the latter, for a bet, kisses her, discovering with some surprise to reciprocate the same feelings.
