The life of the astute diplomat Talleyrand, protagonist of the French political life from Louis XVI to Louis Philippe I. After the incident at a young age that made him lame, passing through membership first to the priesthood then to the bishopric, Amidst his successes with beautiful women and his conspiracy craze, Talleyrand unfolds throughout his life the art of betrayal and change of alliances, driven by the sole concern of serving France, until his final triumph: the alliance with England.
