At the age of thirty, Charles Bellanger wanted to put his young son, Maurice, into boarding school. However, after his wife Germaine abandoned his marital home, he changed his mind and decided to devote himself to raising the boy. Twenty years later, Maurice has a love affair with Loulou, but refuses to marry to not leave his father alone and because he has always taught him not to trust women. Charles tries to remedy this error of judgment.
