The first film adaptation of Collodi’s novel, certainly the least faithful to the book and the most unsettling: this is due to the protagonist Ferdinand Guillaume, aka Polidor. The story of Collodi are mentioned only the most well-known episodes (Fire Eater, the cat and the fox, the whale, the Land of Toys) which are accompanied by all cinematographic inventions such as the attack of the Indians, Pinocchio’s memorable flight over the cannonball across the ocean, as if he were a new baron of Münchhausen. A postmodern and unexpected Pinocchio restored by MIC Lab in 2018.

Live score with piano by Francesca Badalini.
In collaboration with Fondazione Cineteca Italiana.
