When everything changed. Auteur cinema in the 1950s. A journey dedicated to a pivotal decade in the history of cinema, representing a true turning point in the evolution of the seventh art. Giorgio Amadori from longtake.it dedicates a seminar to the birth of auteur cinema in the 1950s, focusing in particular on the early careers of important authors such as Stanley Kubrick, Agnès Varda, Michelangelo Antonioni, Andrzej Wajda.
The seminar will focus on some of the names that will be part of the festival programme, as well as other key figures from the cinema of the 50’s. We will also discuss the nouvelle vague movements that emerged during that decade, and brought the world of cinema into the modern age.
